In re DeJean

Supreme Court of Louisiana

January 10, 2014

In re Felix Anthony DeJEAN, IV.

Applying For Findings and Recommendations (Appeal to the Ruling of the Board) Office of Disciplinary Board, No. 12-DB-028.

PER CURIAM.

[2013-2311 La. 1] Respondent, Felix Anthony DeJean, IV, seeks review of a ruling of the disciplinary board imposing a public reprimand. Having reviewed the record and the briefs of the parties, we find the disciplinary board reached the correct result in concluding that respondent's conduct was prejudicial to the administration of justice. The appropriate sanction for respondent's misconduct is a public reprimand.

Accordingly, it is the judgment of this court that the ruling of the disciplinary board is affirmed.

WEIMER, J., dissenting.

While not condoning the actions of the respondent, based on credibility findings of the hearing committee, which are not manifestly erroneous, and the reasons of the dissenting members of the disciplinary

board, I dissent and would dismiss the charges.
